DELIVERABLES
Brand system, field notes, digital journal concept
The brief
Fieldwork imagines a travel journal for people more interested in observing a place than collecting destinations. The brief was to create a visual identity that could hold route information, reflective writing and expansive landscape photography without letting any one of them dominate.
A point of view
The organizing idea is the field note: a useful record with a personal point of view. Small labels, numbered observations and clear section markers make the content easy to navigate. Longer passages retain enough space to feel like a considered account rather than an itinerary.
The design language
The visual system combines warm terrain-inspired colors with a practical typographic hierarchy. Landscape images can occupy a full spread or be cropped into a smaller observation, while consistent captions preserve the connection between place, time and the reason an image was selected.
From research to a system
The development process began with sample journal entries and a simple map of content types. The identity was then tested against an opening essay, a short route guide and a photographic sequence. These tests helped establish where the system should be precise and where it should allow a little freedom.
What the concept includes
The resulting concept includes identity rules, a journal structure and adaptable layouts for print and digital use. It is designed to grow through contributions while retaining a clear editorial voice and a consistent way of presenting practical information.
About this demo
This is a fictional travel-publication study with stock landscape imagery. Routes, contributors and publication details are illustrative. Replace them with accurate information, original writing and appropriately licensed photography before using the template for a real travel project.
